One of my favourite views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is from Observatory Hill. The ‘Coat Hanger’ becomes part of the vista rather than the dominant feature.
TRIPTYCH
Triptych is three prints hung close together to form a single image. This is a great way to fill a large space at an affordable price.
- We recommend using a thin frame (such as IKEA’s Ribba or Kmart/Officeworks Poster Frames) without a mat so as not to distract the eye from the flow of the image.
- The space between framed prints depends on the size of the framed print – the larger they are the further apart they can be.
- It is also recommended to test the space before hanging the frames. You can do this with three sheets of butchers paper each the size of the frames. Then using blue-tack or tape (something that will not mark your walls) hang the sheets on the wall. As a starting point try a space of 50mm and adjust the space as you need.
- When you hang the framed prints make sure the frames are level with each other and the space between them is even.
